I think it’s so important to define your submission for you, and make your own decision about whether you call yourself submissive or just know it yourself, when it’s right. And we need to keep talking and writing about how many different ways there are to be submissive. Models of submission are all very well, but no one ever fits completely into any of those ideals.

But at the same time, I *yearn* to be. The thing that got me involved in BDSM was The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty. Stereotypical, I know. It was the description of her forced submission that got me. I’ve never felt that I could just be submissive, I’ve always felt that someone would have to drag it out of me. I’m such a control freak that it’s hard for me to imagine just letting go and handing over the reins to someone else. That being said, I have felt submissive toward certain individuals. Their dominance just strikes the right chord with me and allows it to happen naturally, without force.

Submission to me is about caring for and wanting to take care of another person’s wants, needs, and desires before my own. His/her happiness is paramount, regardless of what brings that happiness. But only until such time that it become expected or it is taken for granted. I will give freely of myself until it is demanded. Which seems contradictory to me.
